While Maintenix® provides extensive functionality for aviation MRO, it forms one part of a larger corporate software "puzzle". To round out the aviation MRO functionality of Maintenix, Mxi makes a complete corporate information solution possible through integration of Maintenix with ERP systems and other corporate applications for flight operations, general ledger (G/L), supply chain optimization (SCO), and human resources (HR). Mxi has designed Maintenix so that it may be integrated - quickly and robustly - to fit seamlessly with other systems from different parts of the business, as shown in the figure below.

The integration of Maintenix with external systems is accomplished using the Mxi "Maintenix Integration Adapters" and technologies such as Web Services and XML. These Integration Adapters are designed to provide an out-of-the-box integration layer that is often used to plug directly into external systems, or they may be used to provide the basis for a custom integration. These Adapters are product-supported with manuals and an upgrade path.
Maintenix Integration Adapters are Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to Maintenix for specific well-defined functions (such as flight operations, general ledger, supply chain optimization, HR, etc.). They provide Maintenix with the ability to "push" information to other systems and to receive information from other systems. In other words, Maintenix Integration Adapters expose Maintenix functionality to external systems. For example, an Adapter could publish "demand data" messages to an external SCO system, and receive "optimized material forecast data" messages back from that system.
Maintenix Integration Adapters are licensed separately as "add-ons" to the core Maintenix product.
