Shop Maintenance

Shop Control

Maintenix® is unique in its approach to shop control in that it provides optimized matching of engines (or other major assemblies) to aircraft, using a "pull" philosophy. That is, rather than simply scheduling shop maintenance based on when an assembly arrives at the shop, Maintenix optimizes the schedule to ensure that the assembly is ready in time to meet a material requirement. For example, Maintenix can optimize an engine shop visit to ensure that the engine is "ready for issue" (RFI) and installed on a specific aircraft in time to meet the aircraft's maintenance and flight schedules. At the same time, Maintenix takes into consideration the shop's capability and capacity constraints. This optimization of shop maintenance also ensures that required safety stock and production levels are met. Furthermore, the Shop Maintenance module, with its planning tools and visibility into shop capacity, provides Sales and Marketing with the opportunity to advertise “third party” maintenance insourcing opportunities that were made available using Maintenix’ shop planning optimization.

With Maintenix, all levels of maintenance are integrated. As a result, the progress of parts to be returned to aircraft undergoing Heavy Maintenance is visible so that schedules can be coordinated in real time. The Line Maintenance organization has visibility into Heavy check status and the currently estimated aircraft release date, as well as the ability to see when components will be leaving the Shop. An engine shop would be able to see subcomponents and their status in their respective shops. In turn, the Shops have visibility of components removed at the Line or Heavy levels, as well as the ability to see parts demands, and to view Heavy Maintenance progress. This leads to coordinated execution priorities throughout the entire Maintenance organization.
