Maintenance Control
The primary focus of Maintenance Control is ensuring the continued in-service airworthiness of the airline's aircraft, and the appropriate resolution of line discrepancies. When a fault occurs that cannot be fixed at the first opportunity, Maintenix allows Maintenance Control to ensure that the task is carried forward, properly documented and deferred, and that Operations is aware of any restrictions imposed by the failure.
Maintenix provides improved tracking of Minimum Equipment List (MEL) deferrals and assessment of the various impacts these have on operations and maintenance, such as Operations Restrictions (OPS RES) and aircraft capability assessment. The system also allows prioritization and packaging of Deferred Maintenance Items (DMIs) for passenger convenience and economic impact items. In addition, Maintenix facilitates aircraft re-routes by assisting with swap impact assessment, identifying "rifts" between operations and maintenance.
Maintenix enables Maintenance Control to assist Line Maintenance with troubleshooting and completing assigned layover checks by providing around-the-clock technical assistance for line personnel, including handling planning & scheduling exceptions – for example, "after hours" reallocation of a work package to a different line station if the aircraft is unexpectedly diverted.
The use of web-enabled Maintenix extends the reach of the Maintenance Control Center (MCC), just as it does for Engineering, to the aircraft location to provide real-time collaboration and expertise.
