Line Station Planning
Maintenix offers improved Overnight (or Layover) work scoping and constraint-based work packaging, ensuring that work packages are matched up with stations that have the necessary capabilities and available resources. The system provides total visibility into all scheduled maintenance requirements and run-outs dates, and into advantageous maintenance opportunities.
The Maintenix Line Station Planning software is used to schedule, assemble, and coordinate turn, layover, and overnight checks, based on the current body of deferred work, as well as the standard scheduled maintenance. In Maintenix, the allocation of work packages to line stations takes into consideration:
- Coordination with aircraft routing regarding the planned positioning of the aircraft and its Remain Overnight (RON) location,
- The capacity, load, and capability of the line station facilities,
- Optimization in terms of yield,
- Resource leveling, and
- Part availability
Once the line maintenance planning is done for the fleet, work packages are electronically "forwarded" via Maintenix to maintenance supervisors at the appropriate line stations. The line supervisors will continue to use Maintenix to assign resources (labor, parts, tools), add opportunistic work such as DMIs, defer maintenance that cannot be accomplished within the available time, and communicate that information back to Maintenance Control.
