Heavy Maintenance Visit Planning
Heavy maintenance checks are large, complex maintenance visits that take the aircraft out of service for an extended length of time. As a result, the heavy maintenance visit needs to be carefully coordinated to fit the check into the schedule, to achieve a maximum amount of "yield", and to ensure that aircraft downtime is minimized and relatively predictable.
With Maintenix, the Heavy Maintenance Visit (HMV) planner is able to plan the workscope using plan templates that have predefined phases including routine work and an estimated non-routine workload based on historical visits. Maintenix can store multiple template plans, allowing for tailored planning based on aircraft-specific or 3rd party customer-specific effectivities and maintenance program requirements.
The accuracy of work scope planning is improved because Maintenix allows you to include ALL requirements in the plan, not just scheduled tasks. Any known Out-Of-Phase (OOP) maintenance tasks, Deferred Maintenance Items (DMIs), Engineering Orders (EOs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs) can be added or removed from the workscope. Maintenix provides accurate analysis and forecasting of non-routines (NRs) based on actual NRs from previous visits – using the previous visits by that specific aircraft, and visits from all aircraft of that fleet type at similar Check Phases. This reduces unnecessary part pulls and last minute part searches that occur due to unexpected NRs.
Hangar capacity reports help the planner to find available locations and time periods to perform the check. Material requirements for the check package are summarized, including the exact date and time for each part requirement, supporting materials pre-draw and "just in time" (JIT) inventory allocations.
