Heavy Maintenance

Heavy Maintenance Execution

Maintenix provides an automated role-based workflow and electronic data collection capabilities for the Heavy Maintenance environment. An easy-to-use graphical interface helps technicians navigate through their assigned workload with minimum effort. Maintenix presents a "to do" list for heavy maintenance technicians based on their assigned tasks, and one for crew leads that allows them to assign work to crew members and monitor the progress of each crew. For decision support, the user can easily link to online publications and navigate into the technical records for the aircraft or component to investigate current configuration data, historical repairs, modification status, or outstanding maintenance requirements.

Check workflow is dynamic; it is in constant flux and is usually planned over the period of the current shift, but because of their duration, heavy checks require continual shift changes. Maintenix provides efficient, timely coordination of check status and critical requirements, passing this information from one shift to the next. This ensures that the check continues to "flow" on schedule, and gives the crew leads, supervisors, and production controllers the ability to react "real-time" to any problem or "job stops" that may disrupt the shift plan workflow. Maintenix also provides the incoming shift supervisor and crew leads with accurate details of their work requirements, allowing them to plan their shift and determine if any overtime from the outgoing crew is necessary.

Through the role-based Maintenix interface, Heavy Maintenance roles are automatically linked through workflow logic, allowing technicians to see their tasks as they are assigned, and to sign off on tasks when they've been completed. In turn, the crew leads see their "to do" lists automatically updated, with these tasks marked as complete. Other roles in the automated Maintenix workflow, such as the engineering support role, assist the technicians through corrective action alerting and assessment, leading to fewer delays in check progress.

To further improve efficiency, Maintenix offers technicians the ability to access Maintenix remotely, via wireless pocket PC (or other portable wireless device). This allows technicians to view their "to do" lists and to enter task execution information at the "point of maintenance" on the hangar floor or in the aircraft.
