Ottawa, Canada (June 8th, 2009) – Mxi Technologies announced today that AIROD, a leading maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Malaysia, Southeast Asia, selected Maintenix® software to provide maintenance management technology to their organization, including AIROD Turbopower, a subsidiary of AIROD dedicated to engine overhaul and repair. Supporting AIROD’s vision to become a world class, full featured MRO organization, the software will provide the ability to grow the business through improvements in productivity, maintenance performance, and operational efficiencies.
Replacing a variety of legacy systems, Maintenix will provide a single source of information for all users, leading to increased cost visibility at all levels and the ability to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure success. Automation of previously manual processes will allow AIROD to reduce time consuming and labor intensive activities, improving the overall efficiency of their operations.
“Faced with increasingly complex maintenance requirements, we turned to the market leader in integrated maintenance management solutions to help shape our business,” said an AIROD representative. “Mxi spent a significant amount of time with our team, assessing our needs and current business processes. Working with Mxi, we were able to define a path for achieving our organizational objective of becoming a major MRO provider capable of maintaining airframe, engines and components for fleets of commercial transport and military aircraft from around the world.”
“Implemented and proven by some of the world’s leading aviation organizations, Maintenix has been developed based on industry best practices that allow organizations, such as AIROD, to improve their maintenance processes while growing their business,” said Les Hine, President of Mxi Technologies. “Mxi is committed to this market and we are looking forward to helping AIROD with their future successes”.
AIROD stands for ‘Aircraft Inspection, Repair & Overhaul Depot’. AIROD was established in 1976 as the first and only in-country facility to support the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) aircraft. In 1985, it was privatized as a joint venture company between National Aerospace & Defense Industries (NADI) and Lockheed Aircraft Systems International (LASI). Today, AIROD is a fully Malaysian owned company under the NADI group of companies and is a leading MRO facility in the region, providing quality services to regional and global customers.
